You have to marvel at the unique lunacy of a language in which your house can burn up as it burns down, in which you fill in a form by filling it out and in which an alarm goes off by going on. English was invented by people, not computers, and it reflects the creativity of the human race (which, of course, isn’t a race at all). That is why, when the stars are out, they are visible, but when the lights are out, they are invisible.
Imagine a puddle waking up one morning and thinking, ‘This is an interesting world I find myself in, an interesting hole I find myself in, fits me rather neatly, doesn’t it? In fact it fits me staggeringly well, must have been made to have me in it!’ This is such a powerful idea that as the sun rises in the sky and the air heats up and as, gradually, the puddle gets smaller and smaller, it’s still frantically hanging on to the notion that everything’s going to be alright, because this world was meant to have him in it, was built to have him in it; so the moment he disappears catches him rather by surprise. I think this may be something we need to be on the watch out for
~Douglas Adams

Easily Ray Davies best work. I’d say that this album was a collaberation of the both the Davies brothers and the rest of the band, but it’s clearly not. Ray’s best story telling is in this album as well as musical creativity. I’m still not so sure as to why this album isn’t appreciated as much as it should be, but that could just be my own bias. Now I just need an amp that i can put “swords” in :D
Sure, this fall might have been a little rough but there are still some really good things about it :)

I think you should be here with me :)
